Catherine is a Certified Public Secretary and Holds a Bsc. in International Business Administration (IBA), an MBA – Strategic Management. LLB (Hons) University of London. Catherine has over 25 years’ experience in Governance issues pertaining to shareholders, 10 of which were gained from Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA). At KTDA she was the Principal Registrar, a position that required her to review and formulate good corporate governance - the best practices for the KTDA factory Boards. The role also ensured compliance, review and updating of Governance issue across the factory Boards. A major achievement made during her tenure was shareholding restructuring which included farmers’ education, developing elections rules and regulations for the 68 factory companies which are still in use to date. Has extensive experience in Company Secretarial practice in listed and non-listed public companies, such as Kenya Finance Bank, is an addition to the Public Sector having worked as the Secretary of County Public Service Board of Kiambu County Government. Worked at Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya as a Technical Manager in charge of policy formulation of the profession. She also worked as a Programmes Officer with the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission. Catherine has experience in Board management in areas of in reviewing and implementation of good corporate governance (the best practices). Having worked for various public companies, she has the expertise in management of assets and resources with the objective of increasing shareholders value. She has consulted for Rungwe Small Tea Growers Association in Tanzania, where she developed and presented a shareholding structural arrangement with the goal to have the farmers own a 100% of the factory. Catherine has attended several trainings locally and abroad in areas of Governance. She has attended a course in Public Administration Management from Galilee Institute of Management, in Israel. She is a member of Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and currently the Company Secretary with Nguru Muregi and Associates.
